Herman Mini-Storage - our newest business by Olivia Richards, Herman Review Herman Mini-Storage, located along Highway 27, a block east of downtown, at 212 5th Street, is Herman's newest business. It's unique, since the city has not had such a facility before. The owners are John Miller of rural Herman, and Greg Dropik of Carlos. Friends for some time, they talked about starting a business together, and since Herman didn 't have any type of storage building for public rental, they decided to collaborate and build a 20-stall unit in Herman. The building was completed in mid-June. The cold-storage building contains ten 10-foot by 10-foot stalls on one side, while the other side contains ten 10-foot by 20-foot stalls. All the doors are 9 feet by 7 feet. The 10x20 foot units can accommodate a full-size car, or a boat with trailer, or a snowmobile trailer. The 10x10 foot unit rents for $35 a month, while the 10x20 foot area rents for $55 a month. As a special, a renter can pay for six months of storage, and get the seventh month free. DeeAnn, John's wife, suggests to residents that they may want to consider using their storage facility to house their summer yard equipment during the upcoming winter months to free up some garage space, or it may be a need for residents who don't have a garage or storage building near their home. Often times, for people who are in the process of moving, a place to store furnishings in the interim is a need. Herman Mini-Storage would be able to help out there, too. To make inquiries regarding rental of a unit, call John and DeeAnn Miller at 320-677-2782, or write them at P.O. Box 115, Herman, MN 56248. |
