Herman Auto Body & Glass, Herman's newest business

by Olivia Richards,
Herman Review

Jason Manska wants to take the bumps out of your life, well, out of your car or pickup, at least.

Doing business as Herman Auto Body & Glass, he is located at 222 Atlantic Avenue, at approximately the same location as Dave's Bump Shop once was. He is next to Herman Auto Repair and Car Wash, owned by Tom Sperr. Jason says he has known Tom for about 15 years, since he is a friend of his brother, John. Look for Jason's business name on the adjacent white block building, easily read from Highway 9.

Jason has gained considerable experience working at various body shops on his way to opening his own business here in Herman.

He is a graduate of Granite Falls Technical College in auto body repair. The first hands-on experience came at a body shop in Little Falls, following graduation from the Technical College.

In 1996 he accepted employment at Bayer Auto Repair in Elrosa. He gained body work experience stretching Dodge pickups from a regular cab to a four-door cab. Sometime later, Dodge pickups came off the assembly line equipped with four doors.

Moving back to Morris, where he grew up and graduated from Morris Area High School, he commuted to Glenwood to Glacial Graphics, making vehicle collision repairs and doing custom painting on vehicles. Later, staying in Morris, he worked at Paul's Paint and Repair. Among the many jobs completed was a locally owned classic car, a 1967 Chevelle, owned by Bob Danzeisen

Deciding to make a change in 2000, Jason began to commute to Glenwood again, to Kar Kraft. He remained there until September 12, when he opened his business in Herman.

Jason has the expertise to take out dents, do sheet metal replacement, windshield replacement; basically, collision repair, from a minor accident to a major repair. Equipped with a paintroom, he can custom mix paint to an exact color using Lesonal paint and a special mixing system. He offers a lifetime warranty on paint.

He offers free estimates on work to be done. He is willing to work with any insurance company, making it "hassle-free" for the customer.

When not working, Jason took an interest in enduro racing, frequenting the tracks in Herman, Browns Valley, Clinton, Appleton, and Morris. He has been racing for the past five years, but is considering letting that go to concentrate on running his business.

He enjoys spending time with his "best" friend, Heidi, and hunting, particularly deer and pheasant, and snowmobiling.

Jason is open at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, closing about 5:30 p.m. No appointment necessary.

His telephone number is 320-677-3090; fax number is 320-677-3091, and the e-mail address is habg@runestone.net. His website address ishttp. www.hermanautobody.com"

If your car needs a simple window replacement, paint work or major body repair, give Jason a call for a fast and free estimate. He'll provide quality service at competitive prices.
